Mom's Day

Happy Birthday, Lovely Mami! :')

Thursday, 16 August 2012

I call it as an "Unique Day"

Day 13 - August 8th 2012 was the second night-biking from Fuli to Taitung -after the first late-night-riding from to Fuli- Actually, I memorised it as an “unique day” indeed. Why? Fine, 3 reasons will be explained below :')

After took a bit longer time discussing about our distinct ideas at Seven-Eleven, at last we decided to be separated into 2 groups for a day and gathered at the next day (Kenting at August 9th night). This day was the only day which our team separately ended at the different final destination due to distinct purposes.

At night, we attended the 2012 Taiwan Hot Air Balloon Festival and combined with the Aboriginal Culture, Aboriginal food and beverages. Honestly, I haven’t attended such kind of Balloon Carnival before. Too good to be true, those were amazing for me.
Park On You and Yoan at the 2012 Taiwan Hot Air Balloon Festival
After enjoying the Balloon Carnival, we still had to reach Taitung, as our final destination. So, we cheered ourselves up on our night-biking (for about 20 km). 1.. 2.. 3.. GO! 25% had been passed and suddenly Peggy experienced her ‘flat tyre’, so we stopped for a while to hold a ‘tyre surgery’ by David as the doctor and Rahul as the nurse (“So Ladies, if you want to know how to change the tyre by yourself, pay attention at these steps! … this is my first ‘tyre surgery’ anyway,” David admited. Haha..)
After several kilometres of very-dark-highways, a bit uphill and downhill that we’ve been through, there was a speed-decreasing-car went into in front of our biking line as if led us patiently (balanced the car speed as slow as a bike speed). Until at a traffic light nearby, a-smiling-face-Uncle got-off from his car, asked several queries, and explained about his experiences biking around Taiwan 30 years ago, and that was the reason why he willingly drove patiently, protected us against darkness along the highway, and accompanied us until we arrived safely at the exact destination.
Warmhearted Uncle with the Biking Team at the Taitung Train Station :')
Mercifully, the existence and kindness of a warmhearted Taiwanese Uncle while we were night-biking was become the most important-yet-touching part of what I call “Unique Day”.
Thank you very much, Uncle.

Taiwan: First Week

July 13th, 2012 was the exact day I took my flight on and departed at 23.45 (GMT +7) by Garuda Indonesia Airlines.  Not only me, another Exchange Participants Vera Kumalawati, Nadya Apriliany, and Leonard Rosser from Prasetiya Mulya (LC Prasmul - Expansion team of LC UI, Indonesia)  also flew to Taiwan with me -we are separated later and had our distinct projects and also location to live- Nanda and Leon checked in first then Vera and me follow suit.

cute thing happened before I passed the Immigration. Someone called me a sudden and ... "Yo, wait for us. We are coming. See you. - Ricky" AAA! too touching to be true~ really. I've asked for leave for several times and kyaaa~ however it has been an extraordinary feeling to see all of you guys :') Have never had to go over long period before. Thanks a looooooot for coming and let's documented our concise-yet-converging-moments.

Once more, I was so melted, thank you :'3

July 14th, 2012 and about 7 o'clock, the four Indonesian Exchange Participants arrived in Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan. My phone rang and someone's rushed-voice said that they were really sorry to made me waiting for about 1,5 hours. It wasn't felt too long, they came to pick me up. And we were heading to Hualien via Taipei Train Station to attend the AIESEC Trainee Conference 2012.
Nice to meet you, Mike and Hanah! :')

July 20th, 2012

This day was our very first (after the previous simple kind of training 7 km way home) bike training day. We woke up so early because we have to departed for about 5 am in order to avoid getting sunburnt.

The first training was set at the mountain area (I didn't really know the exact mountain name). And actually, all of us ought to be arrived at the mountain (picture are shown below). It took about 2,5 hours-biking toward our final destination from Mike's home.
Final Destination on our 1st Training - by: Hanah Jang

Facts:  4 of 8 Trainees could reach our planned-final-destination :') HOSH! I was counted in the other 4 who couldn't put an end to the planned target. I was sweating so profusely. Concerning the perspiration-process, I guess, what a great amount and active sweat glands was mine. Besides, have no energy to ride uphill.

Unfortunately, I got my first unforgettable accident on our first 'Biking Taiwan Wanderer' training day. ugh~

Thanks God, I'm still OK. :'3
Don't give up! And never ever give up! :')

Pain evidence after a day passed :')
Always be careful, teammates ♥ Hopefully, there's no other bad thing happened then :')
